The Universal Jig

This blog is not about announcing any truths or untruths, but rather to ask questions about all those 'truths' in life that we accept and assume with such confidence to be realities. Such dogmas are frequently shamelessly espoused, often ignorantly, by so-called leaders whom are found lurking in all facets of life. They usually expect you to dance to their discordant tunes and arrhythmical beats. I question the explanations of reality as well as vague concepts such as the UNIVERSE, GOD, LOVE, SACREDNESS and SPIRITUALITY by so-called 'leaders', 'experts' and 'specialists' who do not hesitate to use subterfuge, conjecture, suspicions, opinions and deceit, for the sole purpose of bolstering systems in which they themselves may be heavily invested.

Mario Koppers

Mario Koppers was born on 21 February 1951 in The Hague, The Netherlands. He emigrated with his parents to South Africa in 1953.
He started a career in music (on the trumpet) at a young age, but after graduating from high school in 1968, he temporarily abandoned music and spent the next 5 years in various occupations in an attempt to come to terms with what life had to offer.
Around 1974, Mario resumed his music career by studying the Classical Guitar and registered for an academic course with the University of South Africa. He subsequently completed a BMus, BMus Hons, MMus (cum laude) degrees with UNISA and a DMus degree with the University of Pretoria. Mario also holds three professional diplomas of the Trinity College of Music, London for Theory of Music and Composition, Trumpet and Classical Guitar. He also holds a Diploma in Datametrics from UNISA.
Mario's research fields included 20th Century Music, Information Theory, and Computer applications to Music, and it was mainly because of these fields of study and research as well as his varied experiences in life that led to a strong interest into the human condition and existence.
During the last 12 years Mario has virtually exclusively been doing research on a variety of topics that deal with human existence, consciousness and everything that has a bearing on being alive (and its counterpart: being dead).

Yet, the way in which these “answers” merely emerges from the ...

During an early evening, a few days ago, I wandered outside to empty a container with potential compost into the compost-bin. Like many others, I have never seen a UFO, ET or something similar; I've never been abducted - at least I don't think so or, perhaps, I just don't remember. So who can blame me for feeling a bit "out of it", excluded, and no ...

  • God’s Organ

Sometimes it seems that we idolize the material things in life that gives meaning to our existence. As an excuse for this misplace adulation of our "domains", we seem to attach them to the gods that we pray to. These gods are usually innocent bystanders. ...
  • Too innocent to Kill

The killing game has become so commonplace and a natural part of life, that we have established a complete semantic regimen around this activity so that we need not feel guilty about our direct involvement in it. We have given it a uniform and raison d'etre. ...
